Our Story

My name is Kourage, and Kreating Kourage was born from a simple but life-changing realization I had as a young girl:
separation limits understanding, but connection plays a vital role in building courage.

As a middle school student, I noticed how the SPED and general education students were often kept apart. There were few opportunities for us to interact, play, or simply be kids together. I began spending my lunch breaks and after-school time volunteering with my neurodivergent peers — laughing, playing, creating memories, and learning from them.

When I was teased by my typically developing classmates for spending time with students who “seemed different,” I realized something deeper:
they weren’t being cruel, they were simply unfamiliar. They had never been given a chance to connect, understand, and celebrate those differences.

That moment sparked a lifelong mission in me — to create spaces where every child belongs.

The Journey

As I grew older, my passion turned into purpose.
I spent years working hands-on with individuals of all abilities — planning activities and fundraisers for adult day programs, providing one-on-one school support, volunteering for respite care, and offering direct services in residential facilities.

Eventually, I found my professional home in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) — providing therapy in homes, clinics, and schools. I earned my degree in Psychology with an emphasis in ABA and Autism Spectrum Disorders, so I could not only serve, but empower families and communities through evidence-based, compassionate support.

Each experience; every child’s smile, every parent’s relief, every milestone, every leap of faith, became another reason to keep building toward my dream: a world where inclusion isn’t an exception, but a norm.

Why We Exist

Kreating Kourage was founded to serve children of all abilities through inclusive, creative, and social experiences that build both skills and confidence. We believe that every child, no matter their diagnosis or difference, deserves equal opportunities to discover, learn, and express who they truly are.

Children spend much of their youth asking one question: “Who am I? Who do I want to be?”

At Kreating Kourage, we help them answer that question through discovery, play, and connection. By offering adaptive workshops, social play programs, and creative art experiences, we give our Kreators the COURAGE TO CREATE THEIR TRUE SELVES.

The DREAM

Our next chapter is bold and beautiful:
We’re working to open in community the first fully adaptive indoor play and learning space! A vibrant hub where children of all abilities can explore art, music, gardening, STEM, cooking, and sensory play under one inclusive roof.

This space will also host therapy services, parent support programs, and community events that celebrate diversity, unity, and courage.

Every brick, every paint stroke, and every laugh will represent a community choosing connection over separation, compassion over misunderstanding, and courage over fear.
